Two of my passions are traveling and taking pictures. Over the last fifteen years, I have been a voracious photographer in the cities I’ve lived in. Taking pictures of my favorite places throughout the year with varying weather conditions has brought me a great deal of joy. It’s such a simple activity, but the process of returning and capturing the same subject in different lighting, weather, heights, vantage points and other variables show not only the adaptability of our surroundings but also how we humans are even more adaptable and ever changing.

Capturing scale, texture and design has been a rewarding process of upskilling for me. Throughout my time in New York, I photographed my surroundings in earnest. I had perspective from walking, cycling, taking the subway and occasional water vehicles. Flying in and out of the city also afforded fantastic perspective! Most days, my 9-5 occupation put me in high rises around the City. Seeing anything from the ground, sky and water grants a great appreciation of most things.

In 2018, I moved to Southern Arizona. Every day in the desert was a blessing to my sight. The colors, light and shadows are indescribably beautiful and impossible to fully capture in an image. But I did my best. The vast desert and mountain vistas continue to invoke awe in me.

In 2021, I returned to Milwaukee, WI. One of my first stops after spending a couple of years in the desert was Lake Michigan. I had missed the water. I spent a good amount of time exploring the Milwaukee shoreline and fell in love with a couple of spots. At this point, I decided to photograph a few locations throughout the year. My goal was to make a collection of images showing the four seasons for my favorite locations. I now have hundreds of images from various perspectives – including overhead with a drone – in various weather, throughout the day and year. Each image has its own feel and can tell its own story.
